Adams County Adult Correctional Complex (ACACC)

The Adams County Adult Correctional Complex Behavioral Intervention Program was created to meet the educational needs of eligible detainees under Act 30 of 1997 of the Pennsylvania Legislature. All detainees under the age of 21, without a high school diploma, are eligible. Persons under the age of 17 are subject to the compulsory education laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The facillity is located at 45 Major Bell Lane, in Straban Township, Adams County, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania 17325.  Upon entry to the facility, all prospective students are offered the opportunity to attend classes five days a week to earn credits toward a diploma from their home school district. Jefferson County, Kentucky curriculum courses are utilized in a credit recovery program. For those students with exceptionalities, individualized instruction based on IEP goals is developed. Supports provided by Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 educators, with cooperation from the student’s home school district, provide the opportunity for these students to earn their high school diploma while incarcerated.
