COBRA/Retiree Billing Administration

Lincoln Benefit Trust provides COBRA and Retiree Billing Services through their local offices at a lower cost than third-party administrators. 

    • LBT meets all COBRA federal requirements to offer benefits to former employees and dependents.
    • LBT works with all Employer School Districts and their retirees to create easy and accurate billing administration.

Section 125 Flexible Spending Accounts

LBT offers Section 125 plan document preparation and changes. Documents are prepared at our local office and meet all federal compliance requirements.

LBT offers Flexible Spending Account administration through its contract with Highmark Blue Shield.  Flexible Spending Accounts offset any deductibles, copays, etc. in a tax-deferred plan. SPD plans and claims processing are provided in accordance with IRS guidelines.

Health Savings Accounts

Health Savings Accounts are excellent ways to allow employees to save money in a pre-tax interest-bearing account while incurring costs in their high-deductible plan. LBT is able to offer administration of these accounts through its contract with Highmark Blue Shield.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

LBT offers EAP services through its contract with Wellspan EAP Services.  EAP is a confidential service provided by employers to help employees with personal difficulties such as emotional problems, family/spouse relationships, substance abuse issues, stress, grief and legal and financial worries before problems spill into the workplace.

Open Enrollment and Employee Communication

Open Enrollment can be a challenging and confusing time if new benefit changes are being initiated. LBT provides full support to Employer school districts during open enrollment by providing communication to employees through on-site meetings and benefit packet presentations while meeting legal compliance for open enrollment.

LBT is committed to communication assisting school districts with their education of health plans and benefits to their employees. Meetings are conducted in small or large auditoriums—communication is the key.
