About our school:

Paradise Education Center, in partnership with Catholic Charities and LIU12, offers comprehensive social-emotional and behavioral support alongside quality academic instruction. The center serves students in grades K-12, providing Therapeutic Emotional Support for students K-12 and Emotional Support for students in grades 6-12.  These programs support students in a highly structured, small group, non-traditional public school setting.

Program Features at Paradise:

• Trained Mental Health Support Team: Including school psychologist, counselors, social worker, and mental health workers
• Trauma-Informed Practices: Approaches for understanding and interacting with individuals based on trauma sensitivity.
• Restorative Practices: Used as a framework for building a positive school culture and effectively managing conflict.
• Tailored Programming: Designed to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Outdoor Adventure Activities: Offered at least quarterly for all students.
• Individualized Behavior Plans: Custom plans tailored to each student’s specific needs.
• Structured Classrooms: Highly organized with a strong focus on positive behavior supports.
