Program Resources
Across the US, approximately 1.5 million children receive therapy for speech, language, or voice disorders (U.S. Department of Education, 2006).
The speech and language support department of the Lincoln Intermediate Unit serves students in York, Franklin, and Adams Counties.
The department is comprised of highly qualified speech therapists that hold PDE teaching certificates. Additionally, speech-language pathologists hold Pennsylvania licensure and American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
Therapists work with students of all ages in the schools, from elementary through high school.
Therapists address needs in a variety of areas, including speech, language, fluency, voice, and augmentative communication.
Speech and language services may be provided individually, in small groups, or in the classroom setting.
