How do I report my absence?

Log into Frontline Absence Management at Frontline Absence Management. The Absence Management system is available 24/7. When creating an absence, a confirmation number will be provided. The absence request is not complete until the confirmation number is provided.

2.  What if I forget my log in ID or PIN?

Your log in ID is your phone number. If you forget your PIN or experience difficulty accessing your Absence Management account, contact the Absence Scheduling team at 1-800-991-5157 or email keschedule@kellyservices.com and a representative will assist you.

3.   What if I want to change my phone number or PIN?

You can change both items when you log into Absence Management. Please keep in mind if you change your phone number, this will change your log in ID. 

4.   When should I report my absence?

As soon as you know you will need a day off, you should enter it into the system. You cannot enter an absence “after the fact.” It is the responsibility of the employee to enter their absences in a timely manner. 

5.   Do I need approval to take a day off?

All absence types must be entered into Absence Management (sick, personal, vacation, jury duty, bereavement, etc.). Sick/family sick days do not require pre-approval; however, all other absences require pre-approval. If the personal day you are requesting is next to a holiday or within the first/last 10 days of school, please complete an LIU-65 form and send to Megan Sager at misager@iu12.org.

Please refer to your specific Bargaining Agreement for additional information and guidelines regarding leaves of absence.  

Once you enter an absence that requires approval, your supervisor will receive a notification through Absence Management. You will receive an email stating whether your request has been approved or denied.

6.   What happens if I am unable to report to work and do not have any remaining leave days?

Immediately contact your supervisor AND program secretary.

7.   What if I have an emergency on the way to work in the morning or become ill once I’m at work?

You should immediately notify your supervisor AND program secretary. 

8.   What should I do if I enter a personal day, but the night before or morning of the absence, I decide to cancel my personal day and go to work?

You have up to one hour prior to the start of the absence (your scheduled start time) to make adjustments and/or remove the absence request. 

9.   What should I do if I am required to be absent for 3 or more days due to medical reasons?

If you are going to be out 3 or more days due to illness, surgery, etc., you should notify the Human Resources Specialist at 717-624-6546, enter your absence in Absence Management as soon as possible, and contact your immediate supervisor. 

10.  What if I want a particular substitute to cover for me while I’m out?

Through Absence Management, you have the ability to create a list of preferred substitutes that Absence Management will contact first when you create an absence. 

11. Why do my leave balances in Absence Management differ from those on my pay stub?

Although we are paid the 15^th and 30^th of each month, payroll has a cutoff date approximately 2 weeks prior to that. If you take a day off in between, it might not be reflected on the paystub for that time period, but would show up on the following paystub.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE LIU TO REPORT YOUR ABSENCE IN A TIMELY MANNER. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION, WHICH MAY INCLUDE TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT.
