2024 Open Enrollment Highlights and Frequently Asked Questions
When is open enrollment?
The Open Enrollment period takes place in November for an effective date of January 1 each year.
What change(s) can I make during open enrollment?
1. You can elect or drop coverage
- You can elect or drop medical, dental and/or vision coverage.
- If you drop coverage for yourself, this automatically drops coverage for your family.
2. You can add or remove a dependent
- You can add or remove a family member(s) to the plan(s)
- A change can be made for all the plans or a combination
- Adding or removing a dependent may change your payroll deduction. Payroll deductions are based on how many family members are enrolled.
The payroll tiers are:
- Employee only
- Employee and Child
- Employee and Children
- Employee and Spouse
- Employee and Family (includes Spouse and Child(ren)
*If adding or keeping a spouse on your coverage, you must elect or decline the spousal surcharge in the Employee Access portal. You must also supply a copy of your marriage license to add your spouse. To add a child to the plan, you must submit a copy of their birth certificate.
3. Enroll or Re-enroll in a Flexible Spending Account and/or the Dependent Care Account
- You must elect or decline the FSA and/or DCA every year in the Employee Access portal.
