Melissa Oberdorf
Training and Consultation (TaC) Staff Developer
Melissa is a Training and Consultation Staff Developer at LIU #12, focusing on the PDE Initiative areas of Secondary Transition, Inclusive Practices, and STEM. In her role, Melissa collaborates with districts to empower educators and support initiatives that enhance learning environments for all students.
Prior to joining LIU #12, Melissa worked as an elementary teacher at Big Spring School District. Throughout her career, she has served in various roles, including writing, science, STEM, and social studies. She has always been a strong advocate for students of all abilities being included in her classroom. These experiences shaped her passion for fostering curiosity and a love of learning, and she is dedicated to helping learners reignite or continue their exploration of the world around them.
Melissa loves her role as a Staff Developer because it allows her to extend her impact beyond the walls of a single classroom. She amplifies the ripple effect of empowering educators to inspire countless students by supporting districts and educators across the region.
Melissa lives in New Oxford with her husband and their Saint Bernard, Jake. Together, they enjoy camping and spending time outdoors.
