Applicant Tracking FAQ
May I make updates, corrections, or add information to my application after I've completed and submitted it?
Yes, you may make updates and corrections to your application. You may also add uploaded documents to your application on Applicant Tracking by revisiting your submitted application with your email address and password as you did when you were initially submitting an application. You must save the changes to update the application. Remember to click the “Finish and Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page after making the appropriate changes.
How long will my application stay on file?
Applicant Tracking will keep your application on file for one year. You will receive email notification asking if you would like your application to remain on file for another year. If you do not choose to keep your application on file after one year, you will need to create a new application should you choose to apply again after that time.
If I see another position I wish to apply for, must I complete another application?
No, you do not have to complete another application. You will be able to use your existing application, but when you select another position to apply for, there may be additional pages to complete that pertain to that position.
When the posting for a specific job opening has closed, how will I be notified of the next step?
The LIU receives many applications and not all candidates receive interviews. Depending on the position, applicants selected for an interview may receive an email to complete an online video interview. Once a job posting closes and a candidate is selected for the position, all applicants who applied for that position will receive an email notifying them that the position has been filled.
I am having a hard time uploading materials to the Applicant Tracking application system; may I mail them to the LIU?
The LIU only accepts supporting application materials online (resumes, cover letters, and transcripts, etc.). The LIU does not accept any paper documents, as administrators view all applicant files electronically. If you do not have your supporting materials in an electronic form, you may visit a local business services company (Staples, Office Max, etc.) or your university career services department, as they should have the resources to help you scan your “hard copy” materials and save them in Adobe PDF format to be uploaded. Also, there is a “Help” button located on the main page of Applicant Tracking, where you can email Applicant Tracking to request assistance.
If an LIU employee wants to apply for another position within the LIU, does the employee need to complete an online application?
Yes, LIU employees who currently work for the LIU should apply as “Internal Applicants.” Individuals who work as substitutes in LIU classrooms/locations should apply as “External Applicants.”
