Speech & Language Services

  •

Across the US, approximately 1.5 million children receive therapy for speech, language, or voice disorders (U.S. Department of Education, 2006).

    • The speech and language support department of the Lincoln Intermediate Unit serves students in York, Franklin, and Adams Counties.

    • The department is comprised of highly qualified speech therapists that hold PDE teaching certificates.  Additionally, speech-language pathologists hold Pennsylvania licensure and American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).

    • Therapists work with students of all ages in the schools, from elementary through high school.

    • Therapists address needs in a variety of areas, including speech, language, fluency, voice, and augmentative communication.

    • Speech and language services may be provided individually, in small groups, or in the classroom setting.
