  • How our TaC Staff Supports MTSS Academics

    Training and Consultation Staff support school teams with initial planning, implementation and monitoring of a multi-tiered system which includes:

    • raising student achievement through effective instructional design and evidence based practices through all tiers
    • deepening teachers knowledge in the development of reading, writing, and mathematical skills
    • implementation of assessment, progress monitoring, and data analysis using specific protocols with fidelity
    • intervention strategies and techniques throughout all tiers
    • developing capacity through professional development for all staff members

    Below is a list of services that we offer through IDEA Funding.  Other sessions related to the services below are available and will need to be contracted through Educational Services.  Please contact us if you have any other needs and we would be happy to discuss them with you.

Literacy Offerings Available

  • Writing: It's a Process, A Systemic Process

    Session will focus on writing instruction at Tier 1. Regardless of program or strategies implemented by district, certain universal components should be part of every writing curriculum. Components will be explored (K-12) and educators will leave with a plan to reflect and analyze existing Tier 1 instruction in the district. Additional on-site is available as part of our Educational Services.

    Secondary Literacy Interventions

    This session will provide an overview of effective research based interventions in literacy at the elementary level, with a focus on reading. Time will be set aside to discuss which data sets will be most helpful in determining gap areas.

    Elementary Literacy Interventions

    This session will provide an overview of effective research based interventions in literacy at the elementary level, with a focus on reading. Time will be set aside to discuss which data sets will be most helpful in deterring gap areas.

    Primary Literacy Interventions

    This session will provide an overview of effective research based interventions in phonology and phonics at the primary level. Time will be set aside to discuss which data sets will be most helpful in deterring gap areas.

    K-2 Network

    A virtual network that meets three times a year to discuss early literacy. This year's focus is the Reading Rope and strands of early literacy.

    Literacy and Technology Network

    Reading Specialists, Librarians, Media Specialists, Technology Coaches - no matter your title this network is for educators involved in literacy and technology. The focus of the work is how to implement, manage, and support 21st Century literacy.

    Using Core Vocabulary

    Academic vocabulary is essential. This session outlines how to leverage academic vocabulary through explicit teaching strategies. Participants will leave with strategies and word wall supports.

    Collaborative Classroom Practice

    21st Century learning is collaborative. This session outlines research supporting collaborative practices in the classroom as well as strategies to implementing collaboration in all aspects of literacy.

    Foundations of Reading

    With a focus on phonemic awareness, phonics, and early literacy participants leave this session with strategies and corresponding make and take materials for the K-2 classroom.

Math Offerings Available

    PaTTAN MTSS Math Series Support

    Participants attending the PaTTAN Math series: MTSS Math will receive on-site and follow-up support to implement the strategies that support all students and increase implementation and fidelity.

    Parent Communication

    Parent communication is key to student growth. Through this course, the participant will be exposed to current research on parent communication, strategies for implementing the research and tools to reach more parents quickly.

    FAPE

    Understanding students' rights and teachers' responsibilities in IDEA and ADA is crucial. Participants will understand FAPE as well as learn strategies for working on IEP teams and managing IEPs in the classroom.

    Intervention strategies for the stuggling math student

    Includes strategies that meet Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. Designed for secondary and primary teachers to increase the methods of intervening with students.

    Intervention for the para-professionals

    Includes strategies that meet Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. Designed for paraprofessionals to increase the methods of intervening with students.

    Academic Vocabulary for Math

    Participants will gain strategies for teaching vocabulary in the math classroom. Strategies to increase student use of the vocabulary as well impact their mathematical knowledge and discussion.

    Intervention Network

    Face to Face network that meets three times per year. Discussion of intervention strategies and networking opportunities for interventionists in the classroom.

    Working smarter not harder: Creating a well run math classroom 

    Focusing on systemic instruction and classroom management. Strategies and procedures are discussed and routines established. Feedback and links to Tier 1 PBIS are included.
