Welcome Letter 15-16
August 13, 2015
Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),
Welcome to preschool! We are so excited for a year full of fun and learning with you and your child! I would just like to take a minute to tell you a few things about myself and relay some information about the upcoming school year. As some of you may already know, this is my fifth year at the Franklin Learning Center as a special education preschool teacher. In addition to teaching, I attend graduate school at Shippensburg University where I am completing my final semester to obtain my Master’s of Education degree in Special Education. I live in Waynesboro, PA where I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and son, shopping, reading, and being outdoors. I am so excited to have your child in my class this year!
We will be having a lot of fun in preschool this year while growing and learning along the way. We will continue to follow the Competent Learner Model (CLM) curriculum which is a very positive program designed to initiate participation in classroom activities, socialization with peers, and understanding of basic preschool concepts. Therapies will be provided on a variety of days depending on the services outlined in your child’s IEP. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I would be happy to talk with you! Thank you in advance for all of your time and energy spent in teaming with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit to provide your child with the best education possible.
