    York County Literacy Council (YCLC) was established in 1976 to serve York County Residents in need of English language and basic literacy instruction. Located in the United Way Building at 800 E. King Street in York, YCLC offers 4 levels of morning and evening English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, Pre-GED classes, Adult Learner classes and one-to-one tutoring. For Hanover area residents, YCLC has a satellite office which offers basic literacy and ESL tutoring and ESL classes. YCLC also offers HSE(GED) preparation Class at various times at 800 E King Street York. Anyone interested in these free services, should contact the office at (717) 845-8719. Anyone interested in volunteer tutoring can also call the office to register for tutor trainings which are held throughout the year.
